Art Gecko

Friday October 8, 2010
1:30-3:30 PM

Create a one-of-kind charm bracelet or necklace from found objects or junk drawer items (yours or somebody else’s!). Game pieces, nuts, bolts, keys, misc. hardware, bits of plastic gift cards and tins will be supplied, but feel free to bring some tiny treasures or small memorabilia you’ve been keeping but don’t quite know what to do with. No jewelry making experience necessary, but come prepared to have some fun!
Instructor: Lisa Nordstrom
Lisa Nordstrom is known for her sometimes serious, sometimes whimsical mixed media constructions that often tell stories, reflect on the human condition and relay the wonders and worries of life's situations. Her work is influenced by tales, myths, humor, human nature and personal journeys, as well as quotes and snippets she's gathered along her way. Lisa's been "making stuff" most of her life, usually working with common and found objects to create something else entirely. High School art classes fueled her passion to create before she attended Ray-Vogue School of Design and Columbia College. She is the owner of Art Gecko, a gallery in the Oak Park Arts District that also serves as her studio.
